Curriculum

What you will learn

The Hifz al-Qur'an follows a structured, six-module curriculum — each module builds directly on the last.

1
Module 1

Prerequisite Assessment & Tajweed Baseline

Every student is assessed for reading fluency and tajweed accuracy before the first ayah is memorized. Strong foundations mean strong Hifz — weak reading is corrected first.

2
Module 2

Memorization Plan Design

A personalized Hifz plan built around the student's age, daily capacity, and schedule — with Juz-by-Juz milestones, revision cycles, and a realistic overall timeline.

3
Module 3

Daily New Portion (Hifz Jaded)

Structured daily memorization of new ayahs using proven repetition and self-testing techniques. Students learn how to memorize independently — not just recite back to a teacher.

4
Module 4

Systematic Muraja'ah (Revision Cycles)

Every session dedicates fixed time to revising previously memorized Juz before any new material is added. Three revision cycles per Juz before advancement — retention verified, not assumed.

5
Module 5

Milestone Testing & Progress Verification

Formal milestone reviews at each Juz completion — the teacher tests recitation from memory, identifies weak spots, and confirms the student is ready to advance.

6
Module 6

Completion Path & Ijazah Preparation

For students completing the full Quran — preparation for Ijazah (scholarly certification of memorization), ongoing full-Quran muraja'ah, and becoming a guardian of the Quran for life.

How We Teach

Our teaching methodology

Every program at Riwaq al-Ilm is delivered through the same proven methodology — one that puts the student’s individual needs at the center of every session.

One-to-One Learning

Every session is between one student and one teacher — full attention, no group dynamics, no one holding the student back or rushing them forward.

Personalized Pace

Each student's plan is built around their level, goals, and schedule. No student moves to the next milestone until the current one is genuinely mastered.

Continuous Assessment

Teachers assess progress in every session — identifying gaps before they become habits and adjusting the approach without waiting for a formal review.

Al-Azhar Qualified Teachers

Every teacher holds a degree from Al-Azhar University — the oldest and most respected Islamic institution in the world. Academic rigor meets genuine teaching skill.

Parent Communication

Parents are kept informed at every stage — progress updates, milestone completions, and honest guidance on what comes next. You are never left guessing.

Questions about the Hifz al-Qur'an program

What is the difference between the Hifz Program and the Hifz al-Qur'an Department?

The Hifz al-Qur'an Department is a full departmental commitment to completing the entire Quran with a structured, long-term plan. It includes formal Muraja'ah tracking, milestone reviews, and a higher frequency of sessions per week.

How many sessions per week are required?

We strongly recommend 4–5 sessions per week. Fewer sessions significantly slow retention. We'll discuss a realistic schedule during your free trial.

Is there a revision system built in?

Yes. Muraja'ah (revision) is built into every session — a fixed portion of each class reviews previously memorized sections before moving to new material. Nothing is moved forward until the previous portion is solid.

How long does it take to complete full Hifz?

With consistent 4–5 sessions per week, most students complete the full Quran in 3–5 years. We set honest, personalized milestones at enrollment so you always know where your child stands.

Can adults pursue full Hifz or is this mainly for children?

Adults absolutely can and do pursue full Hifz. It requires more structured revision for adults, but our teachers have specific experience guiding adult Hifz students through a realistic, sustained plan.
