Curriculum

What you will learn

The Sisters follows a structured, six-module curriculum — each module builds directly on the last.

1
Module 1

Personal Level Assessment

A warm, judgment-free evaluation of where each student is — reading ability, tajweed knowledge, and personal goals — so the teacher builds a plan designed entirely around her.

2
Module 2

Reading Foundations

Alphabet, sounds, and word reading — taught at a comfortable adult pace, without the pressure of group classes or fixed lesson plans. Every session moves at her speed.

3
Module 3

Tajweed & Pronunciation

Core tajweed rules introduced clearly and applied to real Quran recitation — correcting the patterns that have built up over years of reading without formal guidance.

4
Module 4

Personalized Curriculum Design

After the first few sessions, the teacher and student build a learning roadmap together — goals, milestones, and a schedule that fits her family and home responsibilities.

5
Module 5

Recitation Confidence

From hesitant to confident reciter — students practice reading aloud until they can recite with ease and accuracy in their own private space and in family settings.

6
Module 6

Ongoing Growth & Personal Goals

Whether the goal is Hifz, Tajweed mastery, Arabic understanding, or simple daily recitation — the teacher supports each student's personal Quran journey at her own pace.

How We Teach

Our teaching methodology

Every program at Riwaq al-Ilm is delivered through the same proven methodology — one that puts the student’s individual needs at the center of every session.

One-to-One Learning

Every session is between one student and one teacher — full attention, no group dynamics, no one holding the student back or rushing them forward.

Personalized Pace

Each student's plan is built around their level, goals, and schedule. No student moves to the next milestone until the current one is genuinely mastered.

Continuous Assessment

Teachers assess progress in every session — identifying gaps before they become habits and adjusting the approach without waiting for a formal review.

Al-Azhar Qualified Teachers

Every teacher holds a degree from Al-Azhar University — the oldest and most respected Islamic institution in the world. Academic rigor meets genuine teaching skill.

Parent Communication

Parents are kept informed at every stage — progress updates, milestone completions, and honest guidance on what comes next. You are never left guessing.

How classes work

Simple, flexible, and built around your family.

Live & Online

All sessions are conducted live via video — face-to-face with your teacher, from anywhere in the world.

One-on-One

Your teacher's complete attention for the entire session. No group classes, no sharing time with other students.

Guided Practice

Teachers assign short daily practice between sessions — small, achievable tasks that compound into real progress.

Progress Tracking

Milestones are set, tracked, and communicated to parents. You always know exactly where the student stands.

Flexible Scheduling

Sessions are scheduled around your family's life — mornings, evenings, weekends, and any time zone.

Questions about the Sisters program

Are all teachers in this program female?

Yes, always. Every student in the Sisters program is matched with a qualified female teacher. This is guaranteed, not just available on request.

Can I request a specific teacher or request a change?

Yes. We do our best to match based on learning style and goals. If you'd like to try a different teacher after your trial, just let us know — no awkwardness.

Do you offer time slots that work for mothers at home?

Yes. Mornings, early afternoons, and evenings — including after kids are in school or in bed. We schedule around your reality, not a fixed timetable.

Is this open to converts who are starting from scratch?

Absolutely. Many of our sisters students are converts learning for the first time. Our teachers are warm, non-judgmental, and experienced with students at every starting point.

Is the curriculum different from the general adult track?

The core learning content is the same — Quran reading, tajweed, and optional memorization. The difference is the environment: all-female, culturally comfortable, and paced entirely around your goals.
