What you will learn
The Tajweed & Maqamat follows a structured, six-module curriculum — each module builds directly on the last.
Tajweed Science Foundations
The science of Tajweed — its obligation, its history, and its complete rule system. Students learn the theoretical framework so every rule makes logical sense, not just rote memorization.
Core Tajweed Rules — Noon, Meem & Madd
Idgham, Ikhfa, Iqlab, Izhar — the noon and meem rules applied consistently across the Quran. Madd lengths categorized and drilled until automatic in recitation.
Advanced Tajweed — Qalqalah, Waqf & Special Rules
Qalqalah, Lam and Ra rules, Waqf (pausing) principles, and the special recitation rules unique to specific ayahs and letters throughout the Quran.
Introduction to Maqamat
The seven classical Arabic melodic modes — Bayati, Hijaz, Saba, Rast, Jiharkah, Nahawand, Sikah — their emotional character, their traditional use in Quran recitation, and how to produce each mode.
Maqam Application & Recitation Practice
Applying Maqamat to actual Quran passages — building the ability to move between modes and sustain a melodic recitation throughout an entire Surah.
Recitation Performance & Confidence
From classroom to community — students practice reciting in front of their teacher, then independently, until they are ready to lead recitation with confidence and beauty.

Questions about the Tajweed & Maqamat program
What level do I need to be to join this program?
You should be able to read the Quran independently (Nazera level). This program builds on existing reading ability — it is not a beginner reading course.
What are Maqamat?
Maqamat are the classical Arabic melodic modes — Bayati, Hijaz, Saba, Rast, Jiharkah, Nahawand, and Sikah — used in traditional Quran recitation. Learning Maqamat gives your recitation its distinct beauty and emotional depth.
Do I need any musical background to learn Maqamat?
No. Maqamat are taught through listening and repetition, not music theory. Our teachers guide you through each mode step by step — most students are surprised how naturally it develops.
Will this help me lead Taraweeh or community recitation?
Yes. Many students join this program specifically to improve for Taraweeh, Jumu'ah recitation, or community Quran circles. It's one of the most direct paths to confident, beautiful public recitation.
Is this available for female students?
Yes. Female students can join with female teachers. All sessions are private, one-on-one, and fully online.
