What you will learn
The Islamic Studies follows a structured, six-module curriculum — each module builds directly on the last.
Foundations of 'Aqeedah (Islamic Creed)
The foundational beliefs of Islam — Tawhid, the six pillars of Iman, the names and attributes of Allah ﷻ, and the theological framework that anchors a Muslim's faith and understanding.
Fundamentals of Worship (Fiqh al-'Ibadat)
The practical rulings of the five pillars — Salah, Wudu, Zakat, Fasting, and Hajj — taught clearly and applied to the student's daily life. What is obligatory, what is recommended, and why.
Seerah of the Prophet ﷺ
The life of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ from birth to his passing — not as dry history but as a living guide. Students connect Seerah to their own character, decisions, and daily practice.
Quranic Context & Tafsir Basics
Understanding the Quran in its historical and textual context — reasons for revelation, key Tafsir principles, and how to engage with the Quran as a living guidance, not just a text to recite.
Islamic Ethics & Character (Akhlaq)
The Islamic framework for character — honesty, humility, gratitude, patience, and justice — grounded in Quran and Sunnah and applied to modern Muslim life and relationships.
Contemporary Muslim Life & Practice
How Islamic knowledge applies to the world today — navigating modern life as a Muslim, contemporary Fiqh questions, and building a confident, grounded Islamic identity in the West.
Our teaching methodology
Every program at Riwaq al-Ilm is delivered through the same proven methodology — one that puts the student’s individual needs at the center of every session.
One-to-One Learning
Every session is between one student and one teacher — full attention, no group dynamics, no one holding the student back or rushing them forward.
Personalized Pace
Each student's plan is built around their level, goals, and schedule. No student moves to the next milestone until the current one is genuinely mastered.
Continuous Assessment
Teachers assess progress in every session — identifying gaps before they become habits and adjusting the approach without waiting for a formal review.
Al-Azhar Qualified Teachers
Every teacher holds a degree from Al-Azhar University — the oldest and most respected Islamic institution in the world. Academic rigor meets genuine teaching skill.
Parent Communication
Parents are kept informed at every stage — progress updates, milestone completions, and honest guidance on what comes next. You are never left guessing.
How classes work
Simple, flexible, and built around your family.
Live & Online
All sessions are conducted live via video — face-to-face with your teacher, from anywhere in the world.

Your teacher's complete attention for the entire session. No group classes, no sharing time with other students.

Questions about the Islamic Studies program
What level of prior knowledge is required?
None. We have complete beginner tracks for children, teens, and adults — starting from the very foundations of Islamic belief and practice.
Is this for children, teens, or adults?
All three. We have age-appropriate tracks for each group — the content and delivery style are calibrated to the student's age and existing knowledge.
What Islamic Studies curriculum do you follow?
We follow a structured, traditional curriculum built on classical Islamic scholarship — covering the same foundational subjects taught in Islamic schools globally, taught one-on-one at your pace.
Can this replace weekend Islamic school?
Many families use it as a complement to weekend programs, or as a primary supplement for students who want deeper one-on-one engagement than a group class allows. It can also stand alone as a full foundational curriculum.
Do you cover Seerah for children?
Yes. The Seerah of the Prophet ﷺ is a core part of our Islamic Studies curriculum, taught in age-appropriate ways that bring the stories to life for children and provide deeper context for older students.
