What you will learn
The Kids follows a structured, six-module curriculum — each module builds directly on the last.
Arabic Alphabet Foundations
Every letter, its sound, and its three forms — isolated, initial, and final. Students build a complete, accurate map of the Arabic alphabet before moving to connected reading.
Letter Joining & Word Reading
Letters connect to form words. Students practice reading two-letter and three-letter combinations until short words flow naturally and without hesitation.
Short Surah Reading
Reading complete Surahs from Juz 'Amma — applying letter knowledge to real Quran text. Students learn to read full ayahs with meaning and context.
Tajweed Foundations
Core tajweed rules introduced gently: noon sakinah, madd basics, and correct makhraj for frequently mispronounced letters. Rules are applied immediately in recitation.
Fluency & Pacing
From slow-and-careful to smooth and rhythmic — students build reading fluency through repetition, listening, and guided recitation practice with their teacher.
Quran Love & Habit Building
Consistent weekly practice becomes a lifelong habit. Teachers work with parents to build a reading routine that fits the family schedule and keeps children engaged long-term.
Our teaching methodology
Every program at Riwaq al-Ilm is delivered through the same proven methodology — one that puts the student’s individual needs at the center of every session.
One-to-One Learning
Every session is between one student and one teacher — full attention, no group dynamics, no one holding the student back or rushing them forward.
Personalized Pace
Each student's plan is built around their level, goals, and schedule. No student moves to the next milestone until the current one is genuinely mastered.
Continuous Assessment
Teachers assess progress in every session — identifying gaps before they become habits and adjusting the approach without waiting for a formal review.
Al-Azhar Qualified Teachers
Every teacher holds a degree from Al-Azhar University — the oldest and most respected Islamic institution in the world. Academic rigor meets genuine teaching skill.
Parent Communication
Parents are kept informed at every stage — progress updates, milestone completions, and honest guidance on what comes next. You are never left guessing.
How classes work
Simple, flexible, and built around your family.
Live & Online
All sessions are conducted live via video — face-to-face with your teacher, from anywhere in the world.
One-on-One
Your teacher's complete attention for the entire session. No group classes, no sharing time with other students.

Teachers assign short daily practice between sessions — small, achievable tasks that compound into real progress.

Questions about the Kids program
What age can my child start?
We welcome children from age 4. Our youngest students begin with letter recognition and simple sounds — everything is paced to where your child is developmentally.
How long are the sessions?
30 minutes per session. Short, focused sessions designed specifically for young attention spans — enough to make real progress without frustrating your child.
What if my child gets distracted or loses interest?
Our teachers are trained to keep young learners engaged through varied activities, encouragement, and gentle redirection. Most children look forward to their sessions after the first few weeks.
Will my child learn to read Quran or just memorize?
We start with reading — letter recognition, sounds, and words — then layer in tajweed and optional memorization. Reading first builds a stronger foundation.
How soon will I see progress?
Most parents notice real improvement within 6–8 sessions. We also share brief progress notes so you can see exactly what your child is working on.
