What you will learn
The Hifz follows a structured, six-module curriculum — each module builds directly on the last.
Reading Fluency Verification
Memorization built on shaky reading produces weak Hifz. The teacher verifies fluency and corrects any tajweed issues before the first ayah is memorized — so everything memorized is memorized correctly.
Memorization Methodology
Students learn how to memorize — repetition techniques, listening methods, and self-testing — so they become independent memorizers, not students who can only recite with teacher help.
Daily Target Setting
Realistic daily memorization targets set around the student's age, schedule, and capacity — enough to make steady progress without burnout or frustration.
Structured Muraja'ah (Revision)
Every session dedicates fixed time to revising previously memorized portions before any new material is added. What's memorized stays memorized — revision is not optional.
Progress Milestones & Accountability
Clear milestones — Juz by Juz — with regular teacher reviews, parent updates, and adjustment of targets based on actual progress and retention quality.
Long-Term Retention Planning
A plan for maintaining the full Quran once memorized — ongoing muraja'ah schedules, periodic teacher check-ins, and strategies for keeping the Quran alive throughout adult life.
Our teaching methodology
Every program at Riwaq al-Ilm is delivered through the same proven methodology — one that puts the student’s individual needs at the center of every session.
One-to-One Learning
Every session is between one student and one teacher — full attention, no group dynamics, no one holding the student back or rushing them forward.
Personalized Pace
Each student's plan is built around their level, goals, and schedule. No student moves to the next milestone until the current one is genuinely mastered.
Continuous Assessment
Teachers assess progress in every session — identifying gaps before they become habits and adjusting the approach without waiting for a formal review.
Al-Azhar Qualified Teachers
Every teacher holds a degree from Al-Azhar University — the oldest and most respected Islamic institution in the world. Academic rigor meets genuine teaching skill.
Parent Communication
Parents are kept informed at every stage — progress updates, milestone completions, and honest guidance on what comes next. You are never left guessing.

Questions about the Hifz program
How many surahs does my child need to know before starting Hifz?
There's no minimum. Many students begin Hifz after learning to read fluently. We'll assess at enrollment and advise whether your child is ready to start or should build reading foundations first.
How does revision work — won't they forget what they've memorized?
Revision is built into every session. We follow structured revision cycles where a portion of each class is dedicated to reviewing previously memorized sections. Long-term retention is the goal, not just new memorization.
What if my child falls behind or has a tough week?
Life happens. We adjust the plan without pressure or judgment. Hifz is a long journey — our teachers are experienced at pacing students through difficult periods without losing momentum.
Is there a target timeline for completing the Quran?
We set personalized milestones, not fixed timelines. Completion depends on consistency and how many sessions per week the student can manage. We'll give an honest estimate after the first few sessions.
Can adults memorize Quran too, or is this only for children?
Absolutely for adults. While Hifz is easier at a younger age, many adults successfully memorize significant portions of the Quran with the right structure and accountability. Our teachers have experience with both.
